We are low-stress handling, American Animal Hospital Association accredited, and a Cat-Friendly Practices® accredited facility. Our services include wellness care, sick visits, vaccinations, microchipping, an in-house lab, acupuncture, herbal medicine, laser therapy, x-ray, dental, surgery including spay and neuter, foreign body removal, pain management, and more. Kara Rogers
DVM & Medical DirectorDr. Kara Rogers is the Medical Director and a veterinarian at Belton Animal Clinic. Dr. Rogers earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics and emphasis in Management Information Systems from the University of Kansas and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. In addition to her education, Dr. Rogers has experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Stem Cell Therapy. One of Dr. Rogers' areas of professional interest is sports medicine, since she competed in sports from 4-years-old through college. One of her professional goals is to provide the most comprehensive treatment plan for patients that includes holistic, Eastern and Western medicine to speed healing, reduce pain, and get back to having the best quality of life possible. Dr. Rogers grew up in a vet clinic since her father was a veterinarian and she loved watching her father work and see how rewarding the job was every day for him. After starting a career in business administration in 2001, Dr. Rogers realized that cubicle life was not for her, so she went back to school for veterinary medicine. Dr. Roger's loves working in the veterinary field because it combines her love of animals, teaching, science, and never having the same day twice! Originally from Wildwood, Missouri, Dr. Rogers moved around the Midwest before settling back in the Kansas City area with her five cats and two dogs who constantly keep her on her toes. In her free time, Dr. Rogers enjoys jogging and hiking with her dogs, water sports, DIY projects and crafting, and having with friends by the fire on a fall night. Dr. Rogers is very active in animal rescue and runs a Facebook page networking dogs and cats in high-kill animal shelters to help give them visibility to rescues across the country.

Chelsy Obrer
DVMDr. Chelsy Obrer is an Associate Veterinarian at Belton Animal Clinic. Dr. Obrer received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida International University in 2018 and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 2022. She is Fear Free Certified and has a particular interest in exotic animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Obrer wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 5 years old due to her passion for animals and science. Her favorite thing about working in veterinary medicine is the opportunity to work with a variety of animal species. Dr. Obrer takes pride in being an advocate for animal care and welfare. Dr. Obrer is a proud Cuban-American born and raised in Miami, Florida. She recently moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri with her husband Ivan, two cats, and two rabbits. In her free time outside of work, Dr. Obrer enjoys powerlifting, swimming, video games and board games, and overall spending time with her friends and family.

Laura Peck
DVMDr. Laura Peck joins us as an Associate Veterinarian from the University of Missouri DVM class of 2023. She previously attended the University of Arkansas, where she received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2018. Originally interested in medical research, Dr. Peck found a calling in animal healthcare during college. She has a desire to treat not only dogs and cats, but the exotics species as well, and sought out an extended externship at BACECC while attending veterinary school to gain exposure to a wider range of veterinary care. It was during that externship she realized that extending her skills to all the companion species would be the perfect balance of challenging and rewarding. Dr. Peck now returns to her home state as she grew up near Springfield in Willard, Missouri. Married in March of 2023, Dr. Peck and her husband Aaron, along with their two rescued cats, Poppy and Ivy, are settling into the Kansas City area as well as at BACECC. When not working, you may find them taking in a Sporting KC or KC Current game, playing video games, or spending time with their families that live nearby.

Dr. Calla Reilly
DVM"Dr. Calla Reilly is an Associate Veterinarian. She is a 2022 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and is a member of the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) as well as the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV). Dr. Reilly knew from a young age that veterinary medicine was her calling. She is committed to educating pet owners on responsible pet ownership, including proper nutrition, exercise, and preventative care. She firmly believes in the power of preventative medicine to help animals live long and healthy lives. Dr. Reilly's professional interests include exotic animal medicine, including small mammals, reptiles, and aquatics. She also has interests in surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. Dr. Reilly shares her home with two cats, two snakes, one gecko, and many freshwater aquariums. In her free time, she enjoys board games, crafting, and tending to her indoor garden."
